- British sculptor in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Some of his notable colonial works include the statue of William Ewart Gladstone in Blackburn and two statues of Queen Victoria in Nassau, Bahamas and Kingston, Jamaica. Adams Acton also briefly lived in India for eight months in 1876, setting up a studio in Bombay (Mumbai), and carried out a number of commissions for the colony.
