John Cass

English slave-trader, politician and philanthropist in the seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. Cass was a member of the Court of Assistants of the Royal African Company from 1705 and made substantial investments in the Company. Cass also served as a Member of Parliament from 1710 to 1715.
