- Bangladeshi-British councillor Nurul Haque organises the third of his annual conferences on Plassey, at the Kobi Nazrul Centre in London. An audience member 'started shouting' and gave a 'rousing speech' about how the statue of Clive should be brought down. Community acitivist Muhammad Ahmedullah notes that this is when he first became aware of the statue in London.
