2013, Monument to the victims of slavery in Sarcelles

Engraved on the stele are the names of 213 victims of slavery, 70 of whom were the ancestors of Sarcelles residents. These names were taken from the lists of newly freed people in 1848. They were chosen by the association Comité Marche du 23 mai 1998.
The monument was designed by Jean-Claude Nasso and installed next to the bust of Césaire.
