- in 2018, on behalf of the Museum of London, historians Melissa Bennett, Kristy Warren and some of the original Advisory Group members organised this event to reflect on ten years of the London, Sugar & Slavery gallery. After touring the gallery and much discussion, participants, who included artists, heritage practitioners, and researchers responded on post it notes to a series of questions about the gallery. Bennett and Warren recorded those responses had ‘called for changes and updates to reflect new thinking and research, greater publicity in London and beyond, and more collaboration with schools, community groups and other black history and heritage organisations’ and some were 'critical about the gallery's overall narrative and its perceived lack of impact beyond the 2007 commemorations'. To the question 'Something that I learnt today' one of the post it notes read 'That Milligan's statue was covered in 2007' indicating the continuing debate at that time about the presence of the statue.
