Trenchard, Hugh, 1st Viscount Trenchard

Trenchard served in several colonial and military capacities, including Commandant of the Southern Nigeria Regiment (1904–1905; 1907-1910), Chief of the Air Staff (1918; 1919-1930). During the interwar years, he had oversight of Britain's colonial bombing operations in countries such as Somalia, Iraq and India.
