Watts, George Frederic

Some of his notable colonial works include the statue of Henry Vassall-Fox in London and four Physical Energy equestrian statues in London, Surrey, Cape Town, and Harare. Watts' first full-size bronze cast of Physical Energy in Cape Town was installed as a memorial to Cecil Rhodes, whom Watts described as ‘the last of great Englishmen of his type'.
