- Bronze equestrian statue of the slave-owner, colonial administrator, and military officer Stapleton Cotton, accompanied by inscriptions listing the many military campaigns and colonies Cotton was involved in.
- There is evidence connecting slavery-derived wealth to the subscriptions given towards the Combermere Memorial Fund, which was used to erect the statue of Combermere. Examining a list of subscribers to the Memorial Fund published in the Cheshire Observer, dated March 19th 1864, reveals a number of subscribers with links to slavery compensation, such as Thomas Hibbert (who donated £10), John Crewe's son Hungerford Crewe (£100), John Tollemache MP (£100), and 'Some Members of the Cotton Family' (£500).
